Installation Standards

Every install held to
the same standard.

We document our installation standards so you know exactly what to expect — before we show up, during the install, and when we hand off the system to you.

Most installs have no standards. Ours are documented.

The difference between a system that works and one that doesn’t usually isn’t the hardware — it’s the install. A camera in a dead signal zone, a sensor mounted wrong, wires that fail in two years. Our standards exist so every Minted system performs the same way, regardless of where it’s installed or who installs it.

Pre-install site assessment
Every property is assessed before hardware is ordered. Coverage gaps, signal dead zones, and mounting challenges are identified and solved before install day.
Signal strength verified at every location
Every camera and sensor location is tested for signal strength before mounting. If the signal doesn’t meet our minimum threshold, we find a solution — we don’t just mount and leave.
Clean wire routing on nearly every project
99% of wires are run inside walls, through conduit, or along trim lines — never surface-mounted unless structurally necessary and pre-approved. No exposed runs, no zip ties on the outside of a building.
Camera field-of-view confirmed
Every camera is aimed, tested live, and confirmed to cover the intended area before the technician moves on. Blind spots are unacceptable.
System tested end-to-end before handoff
The full system — every camera, sensor, and automation — is tested as a whole before we walk you through it. Nothing is left to discover later.
Client walkthrough before we leave
We walk every client through their system before the technician leaves — live view, alerts, app setup, and arming. You shouldn’t have to figure it out yourself.

Camera placement

Placed for coverage. Not for convenience.

A camera aimed at the sky or mounted in a dead Wi-Fi zone isn’t protection — it’s a false sense of security. Every Minted camera is positioned for actual coverage of real entry points and risk areas.

  • Coverage planned on paper before hardware is selected
  • Signal tested at the exact mount location
  • Field-of-view confirmed live before finishing
  • Night vision and motion zones configured
Commercial security camera installation
Commercial installations

The same standards. On every property type.

Whether it’s a single-family home or a multi-structure commercial site, the checklist is the same. Standards don’t scale down based on the job size.

  • Perimeter and entry point coverage mapped first
  • Hardware mounted for longevity, not speed
  • Clean installation regardless of surface type
  • Full system test before any handoff

The performance benchmarks every Minted system must meet.

These aren’t aspirational goals. They’re requirements. Every install is checked against these benchmarks before we consider it complete.

Wi-Fi & connectivity
Minimum signal threshold at every device
Every wireless device must meet our minimum RSSI threshold at its exact mount location. No exceptions — if the signal doesn’t meet the standard, we solve the problem before mounting.
Camera coverage
Field-of-view confirmed at every camera
We verify live footage confirms coverage of the intended area, with no unexpected blind spots in the primary coverage zone. Day and night modes are both tested.
Wire routing
99% of wiring concealed on finished spaces
On all finished interior and exterior surfaces, wiring is concealed inside walls, in conduit, or routed along trim wherever possible. Surface runs are only permitted in unfinished utility spaces.
Sensor placement
Verified trigger zone for every sensor
Door and window sensors are tested for proper alignment and trigger confirmation. Motion sensors are tested for correct zone coverage without excessive false trigger areas.
System integration
All devices confirmed communicating
Every device is confirmed active in the platform, alerts are tested end-to-end, and automations are verified before handoff. The system is tested as a whole, not device by device.
Client handoff
Documented walkthrough before departure
Live view, motion alerts, arming, and app setup are walked through with the client before the technician leaves. Handoff is not complete until the client confirms they can operate the system.

Why documented standards matter to you.

When a company publishes their installation standards, they’re making a commitment — not just describing a process. Here’s what our standards mean for your system.

🔒
Consistent results
Every installer follows the same checklist — so your system performs the same regardless of who does the install.
📋
No surprises
You know what to expect before we arrive, during the install, and when we hand off. No guessing, no discovering problems later.
Long-term reliability
Systems installed to a documented standard last longer and fail less. Shortcuts in installation cause most long-term system issues.
Accountability
Publishing standards means we’re held to them. If something doesn’t meet the standard, we know it — and we fix it before we leave.
